My name is Grace. I’m a senior studying architecture. Although I agree with the ideas Two Cultures is presenting, and do find this accurate on college campuses, for me I find myself familiar with two different cultures on campus. I am a transfer student so not only do I feel the separation between majors / schools within campus, but many in my major are also transfers who are not as familiar with the campus in general as others might be. This might not be the case as much as I think it is though. Just as in Toward a Third Culture: Being in between by Victoria Vesna there was an emerging third culture between arts, science, and humanities. Now, see a new culture that is how we learn. What used to be reading textbooks and interacting with professors and students in person now has the added factor of online zoom classes.
